Book Launch Event & Ukrainian Charity Fundraiser for Leonora Meriel’s upcoming novel MBAQANGA NIGHTS

On Saturday 8 February 2025, Leonora will be launching her fourth novel Mbaqanga Nights in Teddington, London.
Mbaqanga Nights is set between 1800s Ukraine and 1980s South Africa, and covers the topics of repression, emigration, jazz and the power of choice.
The event will also serve as a fundraiser for Restart Foundation, a mental health charity of which Leonora is the Chair of Trustees. Restart Foundation has the goal of bringing great mental health to Ukraine, and currently delivers psychology programmes to Ukrainian kindergartens, which undergo daily drone and shell attacks.
Everyone is welcome, but please RSVP to leonora@leonorameriel.com for location details.
Location: Teddington, London, UK
Time: 5pm – 8pm
p.s. you may not have heard of Teddington, but as part of Richmond Brorough it has recently been voted “the happiest place to live in the UK” for its sumptuous parks where wild deer roam, glorious river Thames walks, community spirit, fantastic schools and naturally, great pubs. We highly recommend you visit and explore!
